Lift Pump Needed for '03 Dodge Cummins VO System

Tags: links inline

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram, 24V, 5.9L Cummins that was in January ’07 converted to run on straight vegetable oil (VO). The stock fuel system in the Cummins engine has the lift pump mounted on the fuel filter, i.e., NOT in the fuel tank. In my VO conversion system I have an MSD lift pump, (model # PN 2225, rated at 43 gph @ 40 psi, 5.4 amps [gasoline rating]) with a pressure regulator on the discharge of the MSD lift pump to regulate the VO pressure down to 6 to 9 psi, in the range that the injection pump likes to see. My MSD lift pump recently failed. I am in search of a new cost-effective lift pump to replace my failed MSD lift pump. I have to questions – (1) what would be a good readily available lift pump to use, make and model number, that is not too expensive, i.e., less than about $150 and (2) did I need to use a pressure regulator in the discharge of the MSD lift pump and will I need to use a pressure regulator in the discharge of my new lift pump?

Used Vegetable Oil Collection Buisness

I'm contemplating setting up a used vegetable oils collection business in the Far East. Where can I get some knowledge of how Companies collect used vegetable oils from restaurants? I imagine it varies from one restaurant to another, but is there a general procedure or process? For instance to start a business does one need a truck to transport the used oil and can the oil be pumped from a restaurant into a oil truck, or is it collected by a pump and placed in containors? Which is the easiest and least costly method? What can I anticipate as the cost of this process per gallon? Then if the used oil is to taken to a cargo ship to be exported to another country how is that process completed? Is there a import license needed for used VO to enter other countries? Is there a trade show or any info on the web about the process? Any and all help or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!bruce@contactosglobales.com

NEED filtered VO for roadtrip (NY, PA, VA, NC, SC) - HELP!!!

I'm taking a roadtrip from the Boston, MA area to western South Carolina...the truck runs on veggie, but we couldn't get enough filtered fast enough...so, if anyone along the way (taking rtes.90 to 84 to 287 to 78 to 81...) can spare some decent, filtered veggie, we'd be forever appreciative...plus we'd work out a fair trade.

We're actually leaving today, so, if anyone can help out, please email me at barelyliterate@yahoo.com or joelhenderson@hotmail.com (travel companion) asap. We will be in all states along the way this weekend and next and then mostly in the western Carolinas during the week.
