300SD WVO Coversion: 2 tank or 1, what's the optimum set up?
I'm interested in converting my 82 MB 300SD into a grease burner and I'm a bit confused. I've got friends that swear by the 2 tank system, but others who say that this doesn't fix the problems associated with stock injectors and WVO. I also have a group of friends who run the Elsbett 1 tank system and they swear by it. Others say the 1 tank is a bear in the cold and not as reliable as the 2 tank. I don't know who is right and I thought I'd go outside of my little group of highly opinionated friends and ask some others. Any input, no matter how crazy, is appreciated. I'm planning on having this running in a few months.
Thanks,
Ed
Smoking WVO
Help! My 1985 MB 300D which has a coolant heated wvo system is smoking. Mostly on acceleration. The rear tank, which is where I mistakenly put the thermostat, reads 120F so I'm pretty sure I'm getting up to 150-160F up front. I've been checking the engine oil and it doesn't seem to be burning oil. Does anyone have any ideas why it might be smoking?

Mercedes Benz W123 Diesel Engine
I've heard that the Mercedes Benz W123 model diesel engine, particularly in the 1985 year is one of the best diesels built. Is there any reason for this, more specific than it just runs well? Is it particularly suited for wvo?
Here's the Wikipedia page on the Mercedes W123:
Mercedes 300D conversion
"This my first post here in this great forums. I'd like to share with you the steps of the conversion a mercedes 300D 1981.
The whole idea started when I joined the OZBENZ forums where I met Tony and Bruce. They have offered to be at help for not only me but anyone wanting to become a SVO used.
I bought the following parts for the conversion ...
20 Plate Heat exchanger -eBay/Tony.
CAV filter - eBay.
Pollak fuel valve eBay.
Brackets, aluminium angle and bolts - Bunnings warehouse.
Blumbing fittings - ENZED
Still more but not much to buy
Here is a photo of things so far."
merecedez benz biodiesel trouble with leak off lines
I have a 1993 MB 300 TD which I have been running B20 to B99 with good performance. The only problem I have is so far not being able to find a replacement for the leak off lines at the injectors. They are made of rubber and of course do not do well. I have had to have these replaced twice this last year.
Does anyone know of a solution to this problem? My local MB dealer said he didn't think these leak off lines were available in anything but rubber.
thanks for any ideas
