Elsbett kit for Mark IV VW TDi in St Louis. New price!
I had an Elsbett single tank conversion kit professionally installed on my 2001 VW Golf TDi. Recently I had the kit professionally un-installed to sell it in order to fund repairs unrelated to running veg oil on the same.
Complete kit comes with bored out injectors, manual, most of the hoses, all of the filters (plus another new replacement filter)/warmers, and electronics. Kit was run for about 60k miles. Asking for $700, paid $2700 installed three years ago.
I presume that the kit is ready to install on any Mark IV, 4 cyl VW's (99-03), but I advise you to ask your mechanic first. Most of the components of the kit are universal, you may have to invest in some different electronics and certainly new injectors to run this on a different make or a car with more cylinders.
In case you aren't familiar; the Elsbett single tank conversion kit is available as on option in VW showrooms in Germany. The kit uses the car's original fuel tank, and allows you to run on WVO, Biodiesel, or Petrodiesel in any combination. It adds a couple of elements to warm up (and therefore thin out) and filter the WVO as well as some new relays to keep the glow plugs on longer at start up and retard the timing a little so the oxygen sensor doesn't freak out when VWO hits the injector rail.
I was able to use straight WVO as long as overnight low temps stayed above 50 f. Cooler than that and I started blending in petrodiesel. Below freezing, I used straight petrodiesel. The car got 44mpg hwy before conversion. 39 after. 30 when running straight WVO, but it was free!

Can my 1984 diesel van be converted to use SVO and WVO?
I was wondering if this van below can be converted to use SVO and or WVO. And if so, what is the estimated mpg?
'87 300D 104K Miles W/ Greasecar Kit
I am parting ways with my '87 300D. The car has 104K miles on it. I haven't looked into it too much but the odometer works and I trust the person I bought it from, who said the Carfax reports confirm the mileage to be legitimate. Cosmetically the car looks quite good. The exceptions are a scuff across the front passenger door (resulting in a couple small rust spots) and a cracked fog light lens. Otherwise, the car has no significant rust. Mechanically I don't have much to complain about. The engine purrs like one of these should; transmission shifts strong; steering and suspension are tight--its amazing how such a big car can throw its weight around-- and brakes seem to perform flawlessly. There are a couple small oil leaks but nothing that affects the engine oil level.
As far as accessories go: the climate control works perfectly; I'm not sure if the A/C works or not as it hasn't been hot enough to tell; cruise works; all vacuum system components work (sometimes the front passenger door doesn't lock automatically); the sunroof doesn't work but doesn't leak; leather interior is in perfect condition; the dash has a couple small cracks in it; windshield is good. The car started down to -15 F this winter (without being plugged in) but likes it more if it is plugged in for a little bit.
The work I have done since owning it: new glow plugs, replaced o-ring and copper washer seals on IP output, injectors rebuilt by Sean with Hessian Imports (using new Monark injector nozzles), and new serpentine belt. I just finished installing a 2 tank "Greasecar" WVO conversion kit with their 18 plate FPHE, which brings me to why I am selling the car.

put a turbo on an 82 VW Vanagon Diesel
I have an 82 vanagon camper with a 1.9 jetta diesel engine installed by the previous owner. I bought it from him in Colorado and the Colorado mechanic recommended putting a turbo on it to give it more horsepower and gas efficiency. However I cant find anyone in TX to do it, well at least in the Dallas area. So i was wondering if anyone knew how to do it or knew anyone in Texas or close to Texas that would do it.
Will a single tank conversion work on a big truck (F350), like it does on a mercedes
I'm looking to get a 1994 F350 and convert it to wvo. All the conversions I've seen with big diesel trucks have an added heated tank for the veggie oil. Many Mercedes-benz's do not have this second added tank, and just have a heated filter/seperator and/or a heated fuel line that will get the oil to temperature. Will this also work for a big truck?
Thank you.

96 F250 with full WVO conversion and dieselcraft filter system
Selling my 1996 Ford F-250 with turnkey WVO system. Everything you need to collect, filter, and run on free waste veggie oil is installed and fully operational. The truck has had one of two stock tanks modified to hold the WVO. This leaves the entire 8 foot bed free to accommodate an insert or whatever load you need to haul. The WVO collection and prefiltration equipment is entirely portable so you can collect and filter grease wherever you are. If you are looking for a heavy duty truck that you can run all day everyday without paying for fuel then this is the system for you. Do the math and decide how fast you’ll earn back the price.
The truck features:
New tires
New glow plugs and wiring harness
New water pump
New serpentine belt
178k miles
The installed WVO system on the truck consists of:
HotFox in-tank fuel heater
Davco coolant heated filter/dewaterer

WVO conversion for Photo/Film ECO-Snowboarding Doc?
Hey guys,
So I'm in the initial stages of planing for a Photo/Video documentary. We would like to send a message about the need for a more efficient fuel and we thought the best way to do this would be to convert a bus or an RV to run on WVO. I
understand the need for a standard diesil tank for warm up and cool down and I've heard the conversion quoted around $1200.
We have a special need in our case though as we will be traveling all the way up to Alaska, which is about as rough as it gets for WVO fuel I would assume. Does anybody know what it would take to convert a large vehicle to run in such inclimate weather? Or, if anybody knows of any California-based conversion companies I would appreciate any info.
Thanks for your help,
Jim

6.5L Turbo Diesel 94 GMC Suburban "Greasecar"
We have had this converted by Greasecar of Spokane to run on waste vegetable oil. The system cost around $4000 to put in and includes a separate heated 40 gal fuel tank and fuel gauge with an automatic switch inside the suburban that purges the engine of diesel and runs the veg oil when it gets to the right temperature. When we had it converted we had a very nice expensive fuel pump put on, the injector pump was replaced, it got new batteries and a new alternator. Everything ran great until last week when it just seized up on us while driving. The guy we took it to says it was out of oil and needs a new engine? We just had the oil changed and never noticed any smoking or leaking at any time. It always appeared to run solid. We don't know enough about engines...our loss could be your gain if you know about diesel engine repair and could replace it on your own. We would love to have this repaired but it's probably more money than we want to spend if we have to pay for labor so we're upgrading to another veg oil truck. We'll still run veg oil, it's cheap, easy, and clean. The body is straight, no rust, 4WD, leather interior in good shape, tires are ok, AC works great, 3rd row seating. Transmission runs very smooth and was probably replaced before we bought the vehicle. It has a tow package and gets great mileage for its size. It has the power to tow pretty much whatever you want. Veg oil runs the same as diesel so it doesn't lose any power that way. If your interested, we have a pretty easy and inexpensive setup in our garage for refining the waste vegetable oil so it is clean and water free and can be used for fuel. We'd be happy to help you get set up. If you're interested in cutting your fuel costs and doing something good for the environment this might be a good way to go if your mechanically inclined. We might also be interested in hiring you to fix this for us if you have experience and references.
1970 220D Conversion
I'm buying a cheap 1970 220D 5 speed and want to explore converting it to WVO or SVO this summer. I've scanned the forums but haven't seen anyone discuss a pre-1980 conversion. Has anyone else converted an antique Benz? I live in Indiana and need to know more about a winter-friendly conversion system. Thanks!
