1983 Mercedes 300D, originally manufactured in Germany, 165,000 miles. This car will run FOREVER (usually up to 400-500K, no joke.)

Converted to run on diesel, bio-diesel, SVO, WVO, everything except MAGIC (but I never tried...) 28 MPG, and diesel fuel is cheaper than gas right now. She chugs mightily up hills, on the freeway, a great car.

Did your old plastic Pollak fuel tank selector valve stop working, i.e., leaking, sticking--the plastic gears stripping?

We have been running road tests on this aluminum bodied, 3-port WVO/SVO 12-volt fuel tank selector valve (also available in 24-volt) with easily-replaceable Viton seals. It has 12-mm ports with 1/2 inch NPT threads, a maximum operating temperature of 212° F, it is a bubble-tight valve (which means it is not going to leak like some of the other valves used for WVO) and it even has a small red light that tells you when you have switched to WVO! We have run this valve in VWs, Mercedes, and larger pickup trucks with good results.

Other details you may want to know:
Max operating pressure: 1 MPa (10 bar) = 145 psi
It will take two 3-port valves to replace one 6-port valve.

Have you tested your injectors lately? Do you have the power you used to have? More smoke than you remember? There's that tapping sound that drives you crazy (nailing) ... Or maybe you've been running on WVO (waste veggie oil) for about 50,000 miles -- give or take a few thousand -- or maybe just 100k on diesel or biodiesel. If any of this sound familar maybe you should break down and pop test your injectors! Pop test? If you email me I'll send you a link on how you can build your own pop tester. Have you checked your timing in the last 50k? If not, I'll send you a link that shows you how to do it yourself. So anyway, I have a few good used Mercedes injectors that have been pop tested at 115 bar. Good for a non-turbo 240d ,300d, 300cd.

This WVO titrates at roughly 4% FFA. The stored 4000 gallons has been dewatered by simple phase separation, and is not filtered.

We are selling our 1997 Mercedes diesel. It has been our pride and joy. I had been making our fuel from waste vegetable oil for more than a year in my airplane hangar. On November 5 of last year, I was involved in a crash in Missouri which made me a quadriplegic. I am no longer able to make my own fuel, and in all honesty I need a new car with a warranty so that I don't have to do the maintenance. Our loss is your gain.

This car has been lovingly cared for -- it has new rear tires, good rubber on the front, a new fuel heater, new fuel seals, a new tank screen, new glow plugs, and a recent oil change. The car is a shiny black with gray leather interior. The air-conditioning works perfectly, as does Cruise control and power windows. The sunroof does not leak, and also works well. The power seat adjustments don't work as well, so we adjust them to suit us and then leave them alone; it wasn't worth it to us to replace them. The stereo works, but the volume control is a little temperamental; once the volume is adjusted, it holds the adjustment.

The car has 212,000 miles, which is not a lot in the diesel world. These engines typically will run a half million miles before requiring any engine work. The transmission is also regarded as bulletproof, and is working well.

I am willing and able to advise a novice in how to make fuel from waste vegetable oil.

Diesel cars have not been sold in California for quite some time, and it is typically necessary to buy them out of state. That is how we obtained this car. However, it has no rust underneath. Because they are rare in California, the new body style which began in 1997 is very popular and is sometimes sold at a premium. We are willing to sell this one for less than $10,000. Given you can make your fuel for just over a dollar per gallon, this car should provide its next owner with the same degree of savings we have enjoyed.

I am a former veggie car dealer and am currently a biodiesel consultant & locator who is VERY familiar with these classic Mercedes Diesels and this one is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic shape!! I am selling this awesome 82' Mercedes wagon for my mechanic of 4 years who doesn't have the time or desire to be bothered selling it. He just installed a fully warranteed $3000 NEW TRANSMISSION, fully repaired and serviced the rear hydrolic suspension, installed a new antenna, did an oil and filter change, got 4 brand new tires, Freshly charged the AC system, had the front seat's vinyl recoated making them look new, fixed oil leaks, and had the wagon freshly detailed inside and out. The original paint looks great, very shiny and buffed with a few minor blemishes. The body is completely straight with no major dents and no accidents ever. The carpets have been steam cleaned and look good. The dash has some cracks but nothing horrible and still looks good. EVERYTHING on this wagon is in fully working order. All electric windows, int/ext lights and gauges are %100 functional. There is a manual sliding moonroof, cassette stereo, and tons of cargo space when you fold the middle seats down. The car has an original 190,200 miles on a fully working odometer which is considered LOW miles in the diesel engine world. They can go up to 500k with proper maintenance and care. This wagon was very well cared for and you can tell. It handles great, is fun to drive and very reliable.
