How Many Gallons of Oil (SVO or WVO) per Metric Ton (MT)

Great forum thread on calculating metric tons (MT) to gallons.

"How many gallons are in a MT? [...]

It depends on the material. You have to know density or specific gravity, SG (ratio of density to density of water). [...]

Most cooking oils have an SG around 0.92 (heavier than petroleum oils for the most part), thus [1 MT equals] around 287 gallons. [...]

Cooking oil (soy oil) is 7.6 lb per gallon. 2204 Lbs per MT = 290 gal per MT"
