Powerstroke conversion

I am looking at a DIY conversion for 2000 Ford Powerstroke . I gather that the the FN74 / Vegistroke system is the best but it is just too much $. I presume that there are simple lower cost ways to do this even though purges times might be londer etc. Ideas ( diagrams ,pasrts lists, links ) on low a simple fairly low cost system for this vehicle are appreciated . - Thanks
