Does anyone know of common problems or maintenance issues with WVO conversions? I am looking to find any information of additional maintenance needed due to running on WVO. I have found a lot of info on how to convert but not a whole lot on keeping them running or differences between maintenance schedule for a diesel vs WVO?

Change your oil often
The modes of failure for a WVO engine are:
1) Ring coking
2) Lube oil contamination.
#1 will lead to #2 but it is typical to have some fuel contamination in the lube oil from the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system and ring blow-buy. If you get enough VO in your lube oil it will create solids that will cause premature engine failure.
What to do? Change the oil more regularly. You can send a sample to an oil testing lab if you really want to know what is going on. This is all well accepted info.
Personally, I believe that it couldn't hurt to run a cleaning agent in the fuel regularly. I run Bio-Diesel and and would like to think it helps clean potential deposits. However that is just me thinking...
