2001 Ford Excursion with 7.3 Powerstroke

Is a conversion recommened for a 2001 Ford Excursion with 7.3L Powerstroke. If so what are some major drawbacks and concerns with this wvo adaption?

EXCURSION 7.3 Which Kit?????????????

The best kit for that set-up would be DFA Vegistroke.Call and speak to Jason or James about the 37 gallon tank (it's not on the Website, too many pirates....ARRR. it measures 50x20x9 diamond plate pre-plumbed good to go.It's not cheap but if you are like me you want to protect your investment,This kit cost me $3,650 to my door.this will retain OEM tank for diesel.depending on trim you may have to move spare tire a few inches.Trust someone who only deals with what YOU have under the hood. This kit is fully automated and looks OEM bolted to frame holes already there.I did 2 years of research before buying a 2000 X 7.3 limited with 59000 miles and Vegistroked it.Also stay away from DP tuner with ECONOMY tune it will cost you a torque converter with its shorter shift patterns. That stock tranny is working hard enough,ITS RATED FOR 500FT/POUNDS OF TORQUE.you get that stock setting@1650 RPMS.HAPPY GREASER

vegistroke

What kind of mileage per gallon could I expect to get (roughly) in a 2000 F-250 power stroke? And in a 2000 F-350 powerstroke both are 7.3. Is the mileage better than diesel alone?

MPG 7.3

i own a 2000 excursion with 7.3 auto,4x4 i believe it has 3.73? gears 19-21.5 mpg if you baby it on hi way, under 2000 rpm<60-70 mph>.Driving it like you stole it 2000-3000 rpm72mph++++=16-18 mpg hi way.around town if you idle down the road same. It's all in driving habits hence such a variable mpg12-21.I have a vegistroke so personally the skinny pedal lives stuck to the floor:] best feeling passing a puirus struggling up a mountain,With my Vegistroked X with a trailer full of WVO in tow 4 ibc {1100}lbs for less money spent per mile!!!!!!! Free and GREASEYY down the road i go!!

I have a 2002 F-250 4x4

I have a 2002 F-250 4x4 running a 2 tank system. On diesel I get from 15-19mpg with Power Service additive added. I get 2 mpg less with veggie and no additive.

Pulling a 32ft 5th wheel RV I get 10-11 on veggie. I drive about 70 and that counts some mountain driving. I live in Colo.
