1982 VW Vanagon WVO conversion

You can also use kerosene or jet fuel. But this system is a bit suspect. Veg. oil thickens even when mixed and this extra vicosity could lead to extra coking of the injectors and engine. If you find that u have to replace your injectors prematurely then u should switch to a two fuel tank system. A 2nd heated fuel tank thins the veg oil to 10 to 20 centistrokes. Thin enough for most diesel engins. Joshua Tickell publishes a book: "From the Fryer to the Fuel Tank" the information is very good but somewhat dated. Just buy more modern veg oil fuel lines and u should be set. Also Filtering systems have come a long way. You should be able to diy for about 4-500. The book was only 18 dollars. Well worth the investment. Some conversion shops have systems that let u Fill Up behind any restaurant; thats right any restaurant anywhere becomes your fueling station, these installation generally run to around 2000 dollars but are well worth it. I started with a diy job and then moved up with the money I save on fuel. Good Luck.
