Lousy oil filtration; not so lousy?
Yesterday I was speaking with someone who has been driving a diesel on WVO for four years while barely filtering his oil. He pours it once through a T-shirt and calls it a day. He held up the shirt and it was like looking at a constellation; lots of little pinholes of light.
He does say that he changes his filter and pre-filter every couple of tankfulls, but at a couple of bucks a pop it seemed easier to him than filtering down to 5 microns.
If filtering is so important, why isn't this guy's car a mess!?
Also, he doesn't have a two-tank system. He pours straight WVO into his regular tank if night temperatures are anything above freezing. When it's colder he blends 50/50.
Thoughts?
