Up for sale is a wonderful 1999 GMC Suburban SLT K2500. It’s a 2WD and has the very powerful 6.5 L Turbo Diesel V-8 engine. The engine is clean, very powerful and is ideal for an SVO conversion.
It has leather throughout; power windows, seats, locks, and mirrors; tinted windows; heated seats for those frosty mornings; rear window defrost and wiper; a fold-down/removable third row of seats (so it can hold up to 8 plus cargo!); a roof rack; a towing harness; and a hatch-style back (the glass goes up and the hatch goes down). The tires are in good shape with probably ½ tread left. The stereo (tape/single CD) sounds great! Cold A/C blows from the separate front and back units (the rear has a separate A/C control) as we recently had these overhauled. I changed the oil with Amsoil synthetic oil and the engine runs like a charm!
There are only few issues that I know of. When we bought the Suburban it came with a clean inspection report, but we later came to see that it must have been in a small dinger because the alignment from the driver’s side front wheel was off. We had that fixed with zero alignment problems since. There’s also a ding area above the muffler, but it’s hardly noticeable at eye level.
With ten years of life, she comes with some small marks. There are two very minor dime-sized dings on the body, one on the side and one on the back. A roughly two-inch scratch on the side has been touched up. Again, these are not very noticeable. The windshield wipers sometimes take some extra coaxing to turn off.
The engine is extremely clean and runs wonderfully, and Suburbans seem to have the surprising knack for having a small turning radius in that they can really turn on a dime for being such a big SUV. I can testify that it works like a champ at breakneck speeds since this was the vehicle I drove to get my wife who was in labor with our daughter to the birthing center in the middle of the night down deserted back country roads!
We absolutely hate to let her go, but we were given(!) a car by my in-laws and we’re wanting to buy a house (we currently rent), so the sale will help with the down payment.
For sale for $8500.
