5 Speed Manual Transmission
287,978 miles
4 door sedan
Mint green
AC
Great fuel economy (35-40 mpg)
New stereo- with aux input jack, CD player, Blutetooth capable
Roomy trunk
Sun roof (no leaks!)
Tires are in good shape
Windows all work
Recent oil change
Injection pump has been adjusted to give the car more power. (However, this causes it to smoke when going up hills.)

Runs On Vegetable Oil:
Installed Greasecar kit
Have been running on grease with no problems for one year (approx. 12,000 miles)
Installed additional digital grease temperature gauge
Installed a flat plate heat exchanger to heat grease
(The kit is $1,000 and the install would cost an additional $1,000. You are getting a $2,000 value and can start driving on grease today!)

Work We Have Done To The Car:
New alternator, pulley and belt
New starter
Installed 3 new glow plugs (4th one was frozen in place)
Installed 3 new injectors (4th one was frozen in place)
Replaced head gasket
Replaced brake master cylinder
Installed block heater
Replaced rear wheel bearings
Replaced battery
Timing belt replaced June 2008 (approx 15,000 miles ago)
Water pump replaced June 2008 (approx 15,00 miles ago)

Things You Should Know:
The headliner is coming loose at the back.
It smokes
Some cosmetic damage to front left quarter panel and bumper.
Back-up lights don’t work (probably just a broken switch)
Has an “old diesel car” oil leak
Needs new heater core (old one was leaking and has been disconnected)
Needs new blower motor (we have it, just haven’t had time to install yet)
Needs to be plugged in at night or it can be hard to start on cold days
Has a small exhaust leak (still passed WV inspection)

Summary:
This is a reliable car. I have been using at as a daily driver to work (70 miles a day), but it is an older car. It needs someone who is willing to put some work into it. These cars are known to go to 500K, so it still has life in it.

If you are looking for a fast car, this is not the car for you. But if you are looking for a reliable car that runs on renewable fuel, then you should check it out. When I showed it to my Volkswagen enthusiast friend, he said: “Great car. Slow as shit, but great car.”
